Mobile court fines TK 1.05 lakh for adulterated food items

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS):  Mobile courts in Chattogram fined four commercial establishments a total of TK 105,000 for various violations, including using expired food colours, expiry dates and prices on products, using harmful chemicals, and manufacturing   unclean and unhealthy products in city’s  Bahaddarhat area. 

Faiz Ullah, Deputy Director of the National Directorate of Consumer Rights, led a joint operation with BSTI officials to crack down on violations in four commercial establishments. 

The mobile court found that the shop owners were using expired food colours, lacking expiration dates and price labels on products, using harmful chemicals, and producing unclean and unhealthy items. 

Faiz Ullah stated, "During today's operation, four establishments were fined a total of TK 105,000 for flouting various rules. We will continue to conduct such drives in future for the sake of public interests."
