Dengue: Two more die, 490 hospitalized in 24 hours

DHAKA, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) – Two more people died of dengue in the last 24 hours, while 490 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.

Of the newly hospitalized dengue patients, 138 were admitted in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 60 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 100 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 78 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 64 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 28 in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), and 22 in Rangpur division (outside the city corporation).

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.

Meanwhile, 477 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries to 45,273 since January this year.

According to DGHS, a total of 47,832 people have been hospitalized with dengue infections across the country so far in 2025.

With two new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of dengue-related fatalities this year has reached 200.
