DHAKA, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) - The two-day Sharadiya Durga Puja celebration organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs concluded today with vibrant cultural performances at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The evening programme, held at the Nandan Mancha, marked the Maha Navami and featured the resonant rhythms of 50 traditional Dhakis performing the dhak-dhol.

Renowned singers including Anima Roy, Debolina Sur Dola, Ritu Raj and Sinthi Saha, along with other artistes from across the country, took part in the musical performances.

The dance troupe Spondon also performed a special dance paying tribute to Goddess Durga.

For the first time in the country's history, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs organized the Sharadiya Cultural Festival to mark Durga Puja, with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy overseeing overall management.

The two-day celebration began yesterday at the Muktomanch of Suhrawardy Udyan with a traditional Jatra Pala titled Mahishasur Mardini, Devi Durga.

Earlier, the ministry had organized similar inclusive cultural programmes on major religious festivals, including Eid and Buddha Purnima, aiming to promote harmony and an inclusive society.
