263 dengue patients hospitalized in 24 hrs

DHAKA, Oct 3, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 263 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.

Of the newly hospitalized patients, 56 were admitted in Barishal Division (outside City Corporation), 64 in Chattogram Division (outside City Corporation), 35 in Dhaka Division (outside City Corporation), 56 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 35 in Dhaka South City Corporation and 18 in Mymensingh Division (outside City Corporation).

During the period, 305 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 45,988.

According to the DGHS, a total of 48,491 dengue patients have been hospitalized so far in 2025 while 202 deaths have been reported due to dengue this year.

In 2024, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths.
