Couple confesses killing father

KHULNA, Oct 5, 2025 (BSS) - A drug-addict son has confessed killing his father with the help of his wife after the victim refused to give money to buy drug.

The couple gave confessional statement under Section 164 as police produced them before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Judge Rakikul Islam today.

Police said Abu Bakar Limon and his wife Chandni Begum planned the murder two days before in the city’s Bashatala area of Sonadanga.

The couple was arrested early Sunday from Janani Courier Service near Mirpur’s Pallabi area in Dhaka.

Police said, Limon’s father Liton Khan, a fish trader, had withdrawn Tk 50,000 from an NGO loan for his business. Limon demanded part of the money for drugs, but his father refused. Being enraged Limon and his wife killed him.
