Light to moderate rain likely in parts of country

DHAKA, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places across the country over the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," according to a BMD bulletin issued this morning.

"One or two places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions may witness the similar weather," it said with the anticipation of "with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country".
 
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the met office predicted.

Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay, it said.
  
On Wednesday, the highest temperature recorded was 34.0 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi and Feni, while the lowest temperature was 22.0 degrees Celsius in Bandarban.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:38 pm today and will rise at 5:54 am tomorrow.
