JU to host 7th National Science Fair Oct 17

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC) is set to organize the 7th National Science Fair on October 17-18 under the slogan ‘See the Science, Be the Change.’

JUSC President Md. Sowrov made the announcement at a press conference at the Teachers-Students Centre (TSC) seminar room here this afternoon.

The two-day fair will feature 10 segments, including Mathematics Olympiad, Biology Olympiad, Science Quiz, Poster Presentation, Four-Minute Presentation, Project Showcasing, Rubik’s Cube, and Science Open Speech competitions, with participation from school, college, and university students across the country.

The opening ceremony and the first-day competitions Mathematics Olympiad, Science Quiz, and Biology Olympiad will be held on October 17 at the university’s school and college premises. 

The closing ceremony and prize distribution will take place the following day, October 18, at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium.

Musa, General Secretary of JUSC and the chief coordinator of the fair, said, “This year’s National Science Fair will bring together around 1000 science enthusiasts from various educational institutions nationwide. Our goal is to inspire young minds to explore the wonders of science and innovation.”

JUSC President Md. Sowrov added, “In this era of technology, embracing science is no longer optional. Mathematics is the gateway to science, and through this Olympiad, we aim to inspire the next generation of mathematicians and scientists throughout the country.”

Since its inception on August 17, 2005, the Jahangirnagar University Science Club has been working to popularize science education among students nationwide. 
Apart from the annual science fair and math olympiad, the club regularly organizes workshops, seminars, and science competitions, and publishes its own magazines ‘Nucleus’ and ‘Orbital’ to promote scientific knowledge and curiosity among students.
