MIST achieves global ranking for the first time

DHAKA, Oct 11, 2025 (BSS) - The Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) has proudly secured a global rank for the very first time in the UK-based higher education evaluation organization, Times Higher Education (THE) 'World University Rankings 2026'. 

The MIST has been ranked in the 1501+ category, marking a remarkable milestone for an advanced engineering education institution run by Bangladesh Armed Forces, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release this evening.

This achievement reflects MIST's continuous progress in academic excellence, research innovation and institutional development, it said.

It (MIST) successfully met THE's rigorous criteria across multiple indicators including research impact, international collaboration, industry engagement and teaching quality.

Currently, MIST offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs across 13 departments and plays a vital role in advancing research and innovation for national development also.

This year, MIST has achieved three patents for indigenously innovated products, demonstrating its growing strength in technology-driven innovation and applied research, the release mentioned.

MIST Commandant Major General Md Nasim Parvez congratulated all faculty members, researchers, officers, students, and partners for this outstanding success. 

This international recognition will further inspire MIST to reach new heights in academic and research excellence, he hoped.

The MIST community considers this global achievement a proud step forward in the advancement of higher education and research in Bangladesh, the ISPR release added.
