MONTREAL, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The UN's regional health organization has
informed Canada that it "no longer holds measles elimination status," Ottawa
said Monday, a major setback due to a year-long outbreak fueled largely by
vaccine scepticism.

Canada's federal health agency said it has been notified by the Pan American
Health Organization that Canada lost its status as a country that had
eradicated measles due to "transmission of the same measles virus strain in
Canada for a period of more than one year."
