
DHAKA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb today said that empowering the youth and building a knowledge-based society will be meaningful implementation of the July revolution.
“Knowledge is power. Ulkasemi is empowering Bangladesh with that power. One of the main goals of the July Revolution was to create employments. Ensuring a better life for our youths and building a knowledge-based society will be the meaningful implementation of the July revolution,” he said.
Faiz said this while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Ulkasemi VLSI Training Institute (UVTI) at the Ulkasemi headquarters in Gulshan here, said a press release.
The Ulkasemi VLSI Training Institute (UVTI) today started its journey formally with the aim to step Bangladesh’s technology sector forward in the global semiconductor arena.
Noting that the government is fully aware of the vast potential of the semiconductor industry in the future economy of Bangladesh, Faiz said therefore, the government is taking several initiatives to further enrich this promising sector.
Speaking at the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Ulkasemi Mohammad Enayetur Rahman said that the training institute has been established to prioritize the creation of massive employment opportunities in the semiconductor sector by 2030.
He expressed the vision of working with 5,000 engineers by 2030 through this initiative.
Ulkasemi, Bangladesh’s largest semiconductor design company, has launched this new initiative to equip the country’s young engineers with world-class chip design skills.
Academics and industry experts from BUET, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Daffodil International University, United International University, Military Institute of Science and Technology, and Green University of Bangladesh joined the event.
