DHAKA, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - Different organizations have demanded the maximum punishment of death penalty for ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and two other accused.

The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) has started pronouncing its judgment in a case of crimes against humanity against three accused - including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina - over their superior command responsibility for offences committed during the July Mass Uprising.

While visiting the Supreme Court's Mazar Gate area, it was found that organizations, including Manch-24, Janavote Biplobi Manch, and Gono Odhikar Parishad, staged demonstrations and raised slogans demanding the maximum punishment for Sheikh Hasina and other guilty individuals.

Lt Col Hasinur Rahman, who was a victim of enforced disappearance during Sheikh Hasina's tenure, demanded death sentence of Sheikh Hasina and the speedy implementation of the verdict.

Md. Golam Azam, a July fighter arrested on July 19, said that today's verdict must order the death penalty for Sheikh Hasina.

Matiur Rahman, leader of Janavote Biplobi Manch, also demanded the death penalty for Sheikh Hasina and other accused in the crimes against humanity case during the July uprising.
