JUCSU nominates 5 student representatives to university Senate

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) on Sunday night nominated five student representatives to the university Senate under Section 19(1)(k) of the Jahangirnagar University Act, 1973.

JUCSU General Secretary Md. Mazharul Islam told BSS that, due to the absence of JUCSU elections over the past 33 years, there had been no student representation in the Senate until now.

The nominated senate members are Abdur Rashid Jitu (Vice-President), Md. Mazharul Islam (General Secretary), Ferdous Al Hasan (Joint General Secretary - Male), Ayesha Siddika Meghla (Joint General Secretary - Female) and Md. Safayet Mir (Secretary for Environment and Nature Conservation).
