MoU signed between National Institute of Biotechnology and Bangladesh Medical University

DHAKA, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the National Institute of Biotechnology (NIB) and Bangladesh Medical University (BMU).

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the meeting room of the Ministry of Science and Technology, according to a press release today.

The MoU was signed by the Director General of NIB, Professor Dr. Sagir Ahmed, and the Vice Chancellor of BMU, Professor Dr. Md. Shahinul Alam.

In his speech as the chief guest at the event, Science and Technology Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain said that this agreement will open new horizons for higher research and medical services between the two institutions. As a result, it is expected that the quality of healthcare and treatment for the people will improve, he added.

The chairmen of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority, Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, BMU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Md. Abul Kalam Azad (Education), and Professor Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman Howlader (Research and Development), as well as the additional secretaries and joint secretaries of the ministry, were present.
