DU VC meets IDDEF President in city

DHAKA, Nov 28, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan has held a meeting with Mehmet Turan, president of Turkey-based non-profit Islamic organisation IDDEF.

IDDEF stands for 'Insana Deger Veren Dernekler Federasyonu' or 'The Federation of Associations That Value Humanity'.

The meeting took place at DU VC's residence office on the university campus. 
IDDEF's International Coordinator Salahuddin Silan was also present during the meet.

Among others, DU Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Proctor Prof Saifuddin Ahmed, Associate Prof of the Department of World Religions and Culture Dr. Muha. Abdullah Al Mahmud and officials from both DU and IDDEF 
attended the meeting.

During the time, they reviewed the overall progress of the Dhaka University Central Mosque reconstruction project.

The new mosque complex will include modern facilities along with provisions for education and research. A digital survey for the project has already been completed.

The final architectural design is currently underway. According to the university authorities, construction is expected to begin soon following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Dhaka University and the IDDEF.
