DHAKA, Dec 04, 2025 (BSS) – Ahead of the planned national elections, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today transferred Officers-in-Charge (OCs) of 50 police stations.
“The order will come into effect immediately,” according to a DMP notification.
DMP Commissioner Sheikh Sazzad Ali signed the transfer order and issued the notification.
Talking to BSS, DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said the major reshuffle at the field level is aimed at ensuring neutrality, proper duty execution, and a stable law-and-order situation during the national elections.
He said officers-in-charge of police stations usually engage with the public directly to serve them cordially.
Earlier, the interim government appointed 527 OCs through the newly introduced lottery system across the country, Assistant Inspector General (Media) at the Police Headquarters AHM Sahadat Hossaine told BSS.
On November 26, the Ministry of Home Affairs appointed Superintendents of Police (SPs) in 64 districts through a similar lottery process, under a notification signed by Deputy Secretary Mahbubur Rahman.
