Security coordination meeting on Martyred Intellectuals Day and Victory Day

DHAKA, Dec 8, 2025 (BSS) - A high-level coordination meeting on overall security, law and order, and traffic management was held today for ensuring smooth and dignified observance of the Martyred Intellectuals Day and Great Victory Day.

The meeting was at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Headquarters in the capital.
 
Speaking at the meeting, Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Md. Sarwar emphasized the need for utmost caution and timely deployment of manpower to ensure the smooth execution of state programs. 

He has stressed maintaining strong coordination among all concerned agencies, reaffirming that DMP will implement necessary security measures centered on the two significant national days.

Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S. N. Md. Nazrul Islam has expressed confidence that with collective cooperation, both national days would be celebrated without disruptions. 

He urged officials to perform their duties responsibly and remain alert to prevent the spread of rumors or misinformation on social media.

The meeting began with a detailed power point presentation by DMP Joint Police Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah, outlining the comprehensive security plan adopted for the national occasions.

Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) Md. Masud Karim, Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Md. Shafiqul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, Joint Police Commissioner (Logistics) Osman Gani and other senior DMP officials were also present during the coordination meeting.

Representatives from various intelligence agencies, the Public Safety and Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Directorate General of Health Services, Dhaka North and South City Corporations, Dhaka WASA, Fire Service, and other government service organizations participated and provided their insights.
