Junior scholarship exam for tomorrow postponed after Khaleda Zia's death

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Education Board authorities have 
postponed junior scholarship examinations of class-VIII scheduled to hold 
tomorrow (December 31) following the death of BNP Chairperson and former 
Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board issued a 
notification in this regard today, saying that the suspended examination will 
be held on January 5, 2026.

Begum Khaleda Zia, a three-time elected former prime minister, passed away at 
around 6:00 am today while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the 
capital. 
 
The interim government issued a gazette notification, declaring December 31, 
a public holiday following the death of the three-time former Prime Minister 
Begum Khaleda Zia. 

Earlier, the junior scholarship examination began simultaneously across the 
country on Sunday. The examination started at 10:00 am and ended at 1:00 pm.
