Another accused remanded in Keraniganj madrasa blast case

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed one Ahsan Ullah on a 
five-day remand in a case filed over a deadly blast at a madrasa in the 
Hasnabad area under South Keraniganj Police Station.

Dhaka Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Tajul Islam Sohag passed the order 
as police produced the accused before the court and sought a seven-day remand 
in the case.

Earlier on December 28, the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Judicial 
Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman placed six other accused on varying terms of 
remand in connection with the incident.

The blast occurred at Ummal Qura International Madrasa in the Hasnabad area 
on December 26, almost completely destroying the one-storey building. Police 
recovered cocktails and other explosive materials from the site.

Police today filed a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act in this connection.
