DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - The opening ceremony of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026 has been rescheduled to Saturday, following the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

The event was originally slated to begin on Thursday, said a press release issued by Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) today.

However, the government has declared three days of state mourning to honour the passing of the three-time former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

In light of the national mourning period, the EPB has adjusted the schedule for the prestigious trade event.

Officials have confirmed that invitation cards already distributed for the original opening ceremony will remain valid for the rescheduled date on January 3.
