DMP files 1,436 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,436 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Monday (December 29) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 310 motor vehicles were dumped and 144 were wrecked due to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

Of the cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 215 while Wari division registered 126, Tejgaon division filed 212, Mirpur division filed 175, 
Gulshan division filed 311, Uttara division registered 200, Ramna division filed 86 and Lalbagh division registered 117 cases against the motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles, it said.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic 
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
