BPSA mourns death of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Police Service Association (BPSA) today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former Prime Minister and Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a message of condolence, Superintendent of Police, Cumilla District, and General Secretary of the association, Md. Anisuzzaman, conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family members.   

According to the message, Begum Khaleda Zia who was the country’s first woman Prime  Minister in Bangladesh  and three –term  Prime Minister     played a key role in the anti-dictatorship movement, restoration of multi-party democracy, and institutionalization of parliamentary democracy. 

Renowned for her steadfastness, courage, and leadership, she will be remembered as a shining example of female leadership, the message added. 

 A  prominent figure in Bangladesh’s politics, Begum Khaleda Zia, who served the country as Prime Minister for three times and led the BNP for decades, leaving a lasting imprint on national politics, died at the Evercare Hospital at 6pm today.
