Over 90.5 pc candidates attend CU 'A' Unit admission test

CHITTAGONG UNIVERSITY, Jan 2, 2026 (BSS) - The admission test for the 'A' Unit of Chittagong University (CU) for the 2025-26 academic session was held today, with over 90.5 percent of applicants attending the examination.

Of the 87,694 applicants for the 'A' Unit, 79,398 candidates sat for the test, registering a 90.54 percent attendance, while 9.46 percent were absent.

The information was confirmed this afternoon by Professor Dr Md Golam Kibria, Faculty of Biological Sciences and coordinator of the 'A' Unit admission committee.

The admission test began at 11:15am and concluded at 12:15pm. As in previous years, the examination was held simultaneously at Chittagong University campus, Dhaka region (Dhaka University and its affiliated colleges) and Rajshahi region (Rajshahi University).

According to centre-wise attendance, in the Dhaka region, 49,811 candidates appeared out of 55,550 final applicants, marking an attendance rate of 89.66 percent. At the Chittagong University centre, 18,056 candidates appeared out of 19,346 applicants, with an attendance rate of 93.33 percent. At the Rajshahi University centre, 11,531 candidates attended out of 12,798 applicants, recording 90.10 percent attendance.

As per the admission test schedule, the 'D' Unit examination will be held tomorrow January 3, followed by the 'C' Unit on January 9 and the 'B' Unit on January 10. The sub-unit examinations will be held on January 5 for 'D-1', January 7 for 'B-1' and January 8 for 'B-2'.
