KHULNA, Jan 2, 2026 (BSS) - One van passenger was killed and five others were injured after an ambulance carrying a body collided with two passenger vans in Dumuria upazila, Khulna, on Friday afternoon."

The deceased was identified as Kalipada Mondal, 25, son of late Jurar Mondal 
of Gutudia village in the upazila.

The accident occurred on the Khulna-Satkhira Highway in front of the Gutudia 
Palli Bidyut sub-station.

According to locals, the ambulance carrying a body from KMCH to Satkhira 
crossed into the opposite lane due to reckless driving, colliding with two 
passenger vans bound for Gutudia.

Kalipada Mondal sustained critical injuries and was rushed to KMCH, where he 
died from excessive bleeding.

The injured were taken to Dumuria Upazila Health Complex and KMCH for 
treatment.

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Khornia Highway Police Station 
Nuruzzaman Chanu said the ambulance driver fled the scene after the crash.
