
DHAKA, Jan 2, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal organized a discussion and milad mahfil today, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The programme was held at 5:00pm at the auditorium of the Dhaka University Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) here.
The event began with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a special prayer seeking forgiveness for Begum Khaleda Zia, and peace and welfare for the country and the nation. Former Khatib of Dhaka University Central Mosque Maulana Syed Emdad Uddin administered the doa and munajat.
Speaking at the discussion, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib said Begum Khaleda Zia's uncompromising role in political struggles and her far-sighted vision for the people of Bangladesh would remain a guiding light for the organization.
"She always prioritised the interests of the people above her personal or party interests. Upholding her ideals, Chhatra Dal will continue its struggle to safeguard Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty under the leadership of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in the days ahead," he said.
He added that Begum Khaleda Zia had overcome conspiracies and crises in the past, and Chhatra Dal would also move forward in the same spirit under the leadership of Tarique Rahman in the coming days.
Among others, Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin, Senior Vice-President Abu Afsan Mohammad Yahya, Senior Joint General Secretary Shyamal Malan, Organising Secretary Amanullah Aman, Dhaka University Chhatra Dal President Ganesh Chandra Roy Shahosh, General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon, along with leaders and activists from central and DU units, were present at the programme.
