Govt releases TVC on referendum

DHAKA, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) - The government today released a Television Commercial (TVC) on the forthcoming referendum slated for February 12, explaining what citizens will get if cast "Yes" vote and what they will not get if cast "No" votes in the referendum.

The Chief Adviser's Press Wing released the 3.05 minutes TVC with a title "in just three minutes, learn what the referendum is and why". 

The TVC was made under the supervision of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, which brought together voices from diverse backgrounds who explained the implications of the referendum and what outcomes depend on casting "Yes" or "No" votes.

Those featured in the TVC included the sister of July martyr Wasim, the mother of Suman, who was a victim of enforced disappearance, Nabila Idris, a member of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, Ratul, who stood on the frontlines during the July mass uprising, and Dhaka University (DU) Professor Dr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir. 

The mother of July martyr Priyo, the sister of July martyr Rabbi, the sister of July martyr Saikat, Coordinator of Investigation into the Pilkhana killings Captain (Retd) Dr Khan Subael Bin Rafiq and footballer Ritu Porna Chakma also voiced in the TVC.
