Maldives delegation to visit Dhaka to boost educational diplomacy

DHAKA, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) - A high-level delegation from the Maldives will visit Dhaka to participate in the South Asian Regional Higher Education Conference.

The conference will be held from January 12 to 15 at Hotel Le Meridien in Dhaka.

The Maldivian delegation will be led by Fathimath Mohamed, State Minister for Higher Education, Labour, and Skills Development.

Ahead of the trip, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh High Commissioner to the Maldives, Dr Md Nazmul Islam, today.

During the meeting, High Commissioner Dr Md Nazmul Islam highlighted educational diplomacy as a key strategic pillar of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the Maldives.
