DHAKA, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has asked returning officers (ROs) to send reports on activities undertaken by the law and order maintaining cells to the EC Secretariat to ensure a free and fair national election and referendum slated for February 12.

The EC sought the reports in a letter sent to returning officers today.

To further strengthen and expedite the activities of the law and order cells formed in line with EC directives, all returning officers have been requested to urgently send the list of cell members (including mobile phone numbers) to the EC Secretariat.
