Closing ceremony of research methodology programme held at DU

DHAKA, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) - The closing and certificate-awarding ceremony of 
the fourth batch of the Research Methodology Programme was held at Dhaka 
University (DU) today.

DU Organization Strategy and Leadership (OSL) Department arranged the 
programme the seminar room of the MBA building of the Faculty of Business 
Studies.

DU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed attended the 
event as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants.

Coordinator of the Research Methodology Programme Professor Dr Muhammad 
Shariyat Ullah presided over the programme, while Joint Secretary of the 
Planning Ministry's Research and Training Wing Dr Sadia Sharmin attended the 
ceremony as special guest. 

Chairman of the OSL Department Md Rashedur Rahman delivered the welcome 
speech, and faculty member Mehnaz Sadek conducted the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Mamun Ahmed emphasised the 
importance of quality research in building a knowledge-based society and 
ensuring sustainable development, effective policymaking and innovative 
knowledge creation. 

He said proper application of both qualitative and quantitative research 
methods is a prerequisite for knowledge generation and stressed the need to 
acquire methodological skills in research.
