Govt approves proposal to declare March 23 as BNCC Day

DHAKA, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS) – The Council of Adviser at its weekly meeting today approved a proposal to declare March 23 as Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) Day to be celebrated every year.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus chaired the meeting at his office in the city's Tejgaon area in the morning.

Later, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam shared about the outcomes of the meeting at a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy here this afternoon. 

The BNCC, an organization in which many students become members at the school and intermediate levels, was established through an order that was enacted on March 23 in 1979, he said.

In recognition of this founding date, the press secretary said the government decided to observe the BNCC Day annually on March 23.
