SYLHET, Jan 31, 2026 (BSS) - Principal Information Officer (PIO) of the Press
Information Department (PID) today urged the government officials and
employees to work impartially and relentlessly to make the upcoming voting
festival complete.

"The voting festival has to be made successful by working cent percent with
honesty, sincerity and responsibility," he said.

The PIO said this while virtually joining the internal training on electoral
campaign affairs centering the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Polls and
the referendum organised by the Regional Information Office Sylhet.

He emphasized on creating widespread awareness among the people in view of
the upcoming referendum and the 13th general polls as well.

Referring to the last 15-16 years when the country's people did not get the
opportunity to exercise their voting rights in a truly free and festive
manner, the PIO said, "As a result, people's trust and interest in voting has
decreased significantly . . . To overcome this reality, the referendum and
the national elections must be held in a universally acceptable,
participatory and festive manner."

Noting that the referendum is not just a formal process, it is a reflection
of the people's expectations, opinions and future national thinking; he said
similarly, the upcoming national polls would be an important milestone in
restoring democracy.

For this, he called upon all to avoid any misleading information and rumors
and subsequently to make decisions based on accurate and reliable
information.

Additional PIO Yakub Ali and Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) Hasina
Akhter conducted the internal training session.

Officers and employees of the Regional Information Office, Sylhet were
present on the occasion.
