Mild earthquake felt in Dhaka, surrounding areas

DHAKA, Feb 10, 2026 (BSS) - A mild earthquake was felt in Dhaka and its adjacent areas today. The tremor occurred at 5:32 pm, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The earthquake was of mild intensity, said the met office.

The tremor, recorded at 5:32:32 pm, had its epicenter in Gowainghat, Sylhet. It measured 4.0 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter was located 214 kilometers northeast of the BMD Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka.
