DHAKA, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman has said law enforcement agencies find no risk in the upcoming 13th national parliament election and referendum tomorrow.
“Strictest measures will be taken against anyone attempting to create chaos or reject the election results unlawfully,” he warned while briefing journalists on the special security measures at Rajdhani High School at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar polling centre today.
Responding to a question about potential risks surrounding the election, Shahidur Rahman said, “Risks do exist for those intending to disrupt the voting process.”
“Those persons who want to disrupt the election, cast fake votes, steal ballot boxes, or attack polling centers will probably face great risk this time,” he said.
He also warned that any attempt to create unrest by refusing to accept the election result would be dealt with firmly.
“Action will be taken will take against them without any hesitation in anyone tries to create chaos and deny accepting the election results,” he added.
About any possible militant threats, Shahidur Rahman said authorities do not currently see any specific threat but remain vigilant.
Asked about the reported gathering of political party workers in various residential messes in the city, the RAB Dg said they are closely monitoring the situation.
Voters or outsiders are not allowed to stay in specific areas without valid reasons for a designated period, he said.
“We are keeping watch. If the presence of outsiders in suspected places comes under our surveillance, we will definitely take action,” he said.
He said maximum numbers of law enforcement forces were deployed in addition to enhancing logistic capacities compared to other times.
CCTV cameras were installed in almost every center while police have around 25,700 body cameras, along with drones, dog squad, bomb disposal units, and helicopters on standby.
“We think the election will be better than we expected,” he said.
Shahidur Rahman further noted that if disorder occurs at any polling station and a suitable voting environment cannot be ensured, voting may be suspended in that center.
