Nilphamari polling centers ready for 13th national parliament election

NILPHAMARI, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS) - Preparations for voting in the district’s four parliamentary constituencies are complete, with 562 polling centers set to open for the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026. 

Tomorrow, Thursday, over 15.8 lakh voters of the district will exercise their right to vote.

Election officials began distributing voting materials to all centers on Wednesday. By afternoon, officials were seen heading to their respective polling centers with materials from the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises. A total of 27 candidates are contesting across the four constituencies.

Of the 562 centers, 258 have been identified as important, and 70 of these are considered more important, with additional security measures in place.

District Election Officer Md. Lutful Kabir Sarkar confirmed that voting materials had been handed over to presiding officers of the six upazilas, who have now departed for their respective centers. 

Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Mohammad Nairuzzaman verified that all preparations for voting have been completed.
