NARSINGDI, March 18, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee member and Member of Parliament for Narsingdi-2 (Palash) Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan has said politics becomes meaningless if it fails to serve the people.

He said the main purpose of politics is not the enjoyment of power, but service to the people.

He made the remarks this afternoon while speaking as the chief guest at an event held at the Narsingdi Sadar Upazila Parishad office, where financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund was distributed among poor and underprivileged people.

Dr Moyeen Khan said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the BNP government has been delivering various public services swiftly within just one month of assuming office.

“Former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s political vision was to serve the deprived people. If we fail to fulfil that goal, our politics will become meaningless and her dream will remain unfulfilled.”

He further said improving people’s living standards and reducing inequality between the rich and the poor are among the government’s prime responsibilities.

He also assured that the trust placed in the government through the people’s votes would be honoured and that facilities would gradually reach people’s doorsteps over the next five years.

The event was presided over by Narsingdi Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mst Asma Jahan Sarkar. Local BNP leaders and activists, along with senior officials and employees, were present.

Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan distributed cheques from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund among distressed and underprivileged people.
