DHAKA, March 18, 2026 (BSS) - Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, has conveyed Eid greetings to the people of the country.

In a message today, he said that throughout the month of Ramadan, Muslim devotees engaged in fasting and spiritual devotion, striving to attain piety, avoid sins, and increase acts of virtue. As a result, a kind of purification has taken place in individual lives, he said.

He said this has also fostered interest and habituation towards observing Sharia in national life. True success will come if this continuity can be maintained in both personal and national life even after Eid, he said.

Rezaul Karim said Eid is a religious act of devotion. Hazrat Umar (RA) used to weep on Eid out of fear that his sins might not be forgiven, he said, adding therefore, religious solemnity must be preserved in the celebration of Eid.

He also emphasized that everyone must be vigilant to prevent foreign cultural practices from entering Eid celebrations.

Muhammad Rezaul Karim mentioned that Eid is a traditional festival of Bengalis spanning a thousand years, intertwined with traditions from the Sultanate and Mughal periods.

He further stated that this festival should be used as a means to promote social harmony and strengthen interpersonal relationships.

Addressing party leaders and activists, he urged them to stand by the poor and helpless in society. Those who conceal their poverty for social reasons should also be met with empathy, he said.

He called upon everyone to work collectively to ensure that no one in society is deprived of the joy of Eid.
