DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) – The United Kingdom (UK) today congratulated Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman on his party’s election victory, expressing readiness to work with the new government on shared priorities including economic growth, migration, climate and security.

“Congratulations to Tarique Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on your election victory, and to the people of Bangladesh as the country enters a new chapter,” read a message issued by the British High Commission, Dhaka. 

The message said the UK looks forward to working together with the new government on shared priorities such as economic growth, migration, climate action and security cooperation.

The statement reflected the UK’s continued engagement with Bangladesh as a close development and strategic partner.
