DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain today said the 13th national election marks a significant milestone in the country's democratic journey.

He said holding a free, fair and impartial election despite political debates and challenges reflects the state's institutional capacity and administrative efficiency.

The adviser made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the eight-storey building of New Colony Jame Mosque at Asadgate in the capital.

He said coordinated efforts of the administration and law enforcement agencies ensured a peaceful voting environment, boosting public confidence.

Spontaneous voter participation made the February 12 polls vibrant and meaningful, he added.

"Democracy is not confined to voting alone; it is a practice of trust, transparency and accountability. This election has further strengthened that continuity," he said.
