PM's defence adviser visits CAO office at Dhaka Cantonment

DHAKA, March 5, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. A K M Shamsul Islam paid a surprise visit to the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday. 

Defence Secretary Md Ashraf Uddin accompanied the adviser during the visit, said a press release of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). 

During the visit, the defence adviser instructed officials to strictly ensure adherence to existing rules and regulations as well as designated office hours in order to make official activities more dynamic and effective. 

He also directed that accountability and transparency be maintained in the recruitment process, necessary measures be taken to reduce costs in conducting examinations, and a digital access control system be introduced for effective attendance management.

The release said despite the surprise visit, the overall environment of the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer was found to be clean, orderly and satisfactory.
