CHT affairs minister visits stalls at Amar Ekushey Book Fair

DHAKA, March 7, 2026 (BSS) – Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Dipen Dewan today visited different stalls at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in the capital.

As a book aficionado, he toured the fair premises adjacent to Bangla Academy and Suhrawardy Udyan in the afternoon, said an official release.  

The minister arrived at the fair venue around 4 pm. During the visit, he went around various publication stalls and inquired about creative and research-based books.

At that time, he also visited the central stall set up by Zia Parishad and collected several research-based books from there.

Minister Dipen personally enjoys reading books. At the fair, he not only purchased books for himself but also bought books and presented them to others present there, encouraging the habit of reading. His spontaneous participation in promoting a culture of reading created enthusiasm among the visitors at the fair.

The minister’s wife Maitri Chakma, President of the Sonali Bank Central Committee of Zia Parishad, Subhash Chandra Chakma, President of Rangamati District Zia Parishad Manas Mukur Chakma, among others, were present during the visit.
