
DHAKA, March 16, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 14 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded 14 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today," a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
"Out of the 14 fresh cases, two were hospitalised in Barishal division, four in Dhaka division, two in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and one in Dhaka South City Corporation, two in Khulna division, two in Mymensingh division and one in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year claimed four lives and inflicted 1,668 people.
The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.
Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
