DHAKA, March 16, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator
Abdus Salam said all preparations have been completed at the Jatiya Eidgah on
the Supreme Court premises to hold the capital's main Eid-ul-Fitr
congregation at 8:30am on Eid day.

"All preparations have been completed at the Jatiya Eidgah for offering Eid-
ul-Fitr prayers. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will offer Eid prayers at the
Jatiya Eidgah this year. Around 35,000 devotees will be able to perform
prayers at the venue," he said while talking to newsmen after inspecting
preparations for the Eid congregation at the venue.

Abdus Salam further said that the main congregation will be held at the
Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in case of inclement weather.

"As the weather is expected to be hot, efforts will be made to provide air-
cooling arrangements in some areas. Adequate fans and lighting facilities
will also be ensured. Separate arrangements, including ablution facilities
and a dedicated entrance for women, have been made. In addition, mobile
toilets and primary medical services will be available at the venue," he
added.

Abdus Salam said the Prime Minister's participation in the Eid congregation
at the Jatiya Eidgah this year is a matter of joy for the citizens of Dhaka.

The DSCC administrator further invited city residents who wish to offer Eid
prayers alongside the Prime Minister to attend the congregation at the Jatiya
Eidgah at the scheduled time.

He also urged worshippers to follow security instructions while entering the
Eidgah premises and refrain from carrying any items that could disrupt
security arrangements.

Concerned officials of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) were present
during the inspection of the overall preparations at the Jatiya Eidgah.
