DHAKA, March 16, 2026 (BSS) - The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) will remain closed for seven consecutive days from March 17 to March 23 on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

Special precautionary instructions have been issued for officers and employees to ensure the security of the department, save electricity and prevent the spread of dengue during the long holiday.

This instruction was given in an office order signed by Assistant Director of the General Administration Branch of the DSHE, Md Khalid Hossain, today.

It said that every officer and employee must ensure that electrical switches, lights, fans and computers in their rooms are turned off before the office closes on the occasion of Eid.

In particular, strict instructions have been given to keep air conditioners (ACs) unplugged to avoid fire hazards and mechanical problems.

The office order also stated that special attention should be paid to ensuring that no room develops foul odors from perishable goods during the long holidays and that no water accumulates anywhere in the building, including in the washrooms.

All concerned have been requested to pay utmost attention to preventing water accumulation to stop the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes.
