Yeaser Khan directs BTV Ctg center officials to air quality programs, expedite project work

CHATTOGRAM, March 24, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yeaser Khan Chowdhury has called upon the officials of Bangladesh Television (BTV) Chattogram Center to air time-befitting, attractive and quality programs and enrich the facility with advanced digitalized equipment by expediting the work of on-going development project.

While visiting the center in the city’s Foye’s Lake area on Tuesday morning, the State Minister also directed the officials concerned to chalked-out and design creative and entertainment-based programs aiming at generating more revenue side by side disseminating government’s various pro-people welfare-oriented schemes among the people.

Yeaser Khan Chowdhury held a meeting with the officials and employees of the BTV Chattogram Center at its conference room and wanted to know the state of the overall operation of the Center.

General Manager of the Center Md Imam Hossain briefed the State Minister regarding BTV Chattogram Center’s regular and specially designed program schedule, progress on the on-going project, shortage of manpower as per approved organogram and various steps taken to increase revenue earnings.

The State Minister was informed that about 90 percent work of Tk. 27 crore project titled “Turning the Bangladesh Television Chattogram Center as full-fledged TV Station (1st Phase)” has been completed and rest of the work is expected to be completed within next six months.

Major component of the project includes construction of a 10-storied multi-purpose building to accommodate one multi-purpose studio and one news room studio along with installation of modern and high-definition transmission equipment and other machinery so that the center could transmit and air for 24-hours independently.  

Yeaser Khan Chowdhury advised the officials on how to improve the quality of programs as per expectation of the viewers by maximum utilization of existing manpower and technical facilities as well as engagement of popular artists.

In this regard, he assured that the ministry would take effective steps to solve all reasonable problems of the BTV Chattogram Center.

Later Yeaser Khan Chowdhury visited various facilities of the center and witnessed the progress of the almost-completed project site of BTV Chattogram Center.
