DU VC mourns death of Prof Mojib Uddin

DHAKA, March 24, 2026 (BSS) – Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof ABM Obaidul Islam today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of retired faculty of DU’s Tourism and Hospitality Management Department Prof Dr Mojib Uddin Ahmed.

In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Mojib Uddin died today while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital.

 He was 66. 

He is survived by his wife and three daughters.

His body will be brought to the Faculty of Business Studies premises on the campus at 12:00 noon on March 26 to allow students, teachers and well-wishers to have a last glimpse of him.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held after the Zuhr prayers at the university’s central mosque on that day.

He will later be buried at Rayerbazar graveyard beside his parents’ graves.
