DHAKA, March 24, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh and India today discussed expanding cooperation in healthcare, including AI-enabled services, pharmaceutical linkages and medical education, aiming to strengthen people-centric and affordable health systems in both countries.
The issues were discussed when Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain at the ministry, said the Indian High Commission here.
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. M. A. Muhith and senior officials of the ministry were also present during the meeting.
During the talks, both sides explored opportunities for collaboration in capacity building, pharmaceutical industry linkages, medical education and digital healthcare services based on shared priorities and mutual interests.
They also discussed enhancing cooperation in public healthcare, including exchanges in medical research, advanced treatment, cancer care and traditional medicine.
The two sides emphasized the importance of people-centric initiatives to ensure affordable and accessible healthcare services for the populations of both countries.
