EC meeting on year-round removal of deceased voters on March 31

DHAKA, March 29, 2026 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) will hold a meeting on March 31 to formulate coordinated proposals and recommendations to ensure that the removal of deceased voters' names from the electoral roll continues throughout the year.

The information was disclosed in a notice issued today, signed by EC Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury.

According to the notice, the meeting will be held at 4:00 pm at the Election Building, with the Director General of the National Identity Registration Wing in chair.

The meeting will discuss measures to maintain a year-round mechanism for removing deceased voters from the voter list, along with other related issues.
