
RAJSHAHI, April 11, 2026 (BSS) - Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon today said the education budget will be increased in the future, but it is essential to properly determine where and how that money will be spent.
He stated that there is no alternative to setting the right priorities in spending to ensure improvement in the quality of education.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar organized on the occasion of the Regional Skills and Innovation Competition at the Shaheed Osman Bin Hadi Auditorium of Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute.
At the seminar, the Education Minister directly exchanged views with students and teachers.
During the session, he inquired about various existing problems in the education sector, reasons for students falling behind in their studies, their progress, and ways to ensure quality education.
In response, students raised several issues, including irregular classes, delays in holding exams, and inconsistencies between the curriculum and syllabus.
The Education Minister said, "Special emphasis has been placed on technical education. The Prime Minister has already given priority to this sector."
He said, "Under no circumstances should technical education be neglected; rather, we must bring about a new revolution through this education."
At the same time, he urged everyone involved in education to play a responsible role, saying that everyone must work together for the purpose of nation-building.
The minister further said accountability of the ministry, teachers, and all concerned parties must be ensured for the development of the education system.
Others who spoke at the event included Technical and Madrasah Education Division Secretary Md. Daud Mia, Directorate of Technical Education Director General Abul Khair Akkas Ali, Divisional Commissioner Dr A N M Bazlur Rashid; and Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute Principal Abu Hanif, among others.
