BOGURA, April 14, 2026 (BSS) - Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon today said Bogura will be developed into one of the country's leading education cities and a prominent educational hub.

"The government aims to transform Bogura into a model district in the education sector. A modern education system would be developed centering the region," he told the Farmer Card distribution programme at Uthali High School ground in Sadar union of Shibganj upazila in the district this afternoon.

State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, State Minister for Public Administration and Food Abdul Bari, Vice-Chancellor of National University Prof Dr ASM Amanullah, Bogura Rural Development Academy (RDA) Acting Director General agriculturist Abdul Majid and Deputy Commissioner Taufiqur Rahman also addressed the programme.

Emphasizing quality education, the education minister said proper teaching must be ensured in every educational institution, highlighting that the teachers and guardians have a crucial role to play in this regard.

The minister also said the experience of retired teachers could be utilized to further strengthen the education system. He added that multipurpose halls would be constructed in every upazila with facilities for holding examinations.

Assuring 100 percent festival allowance for teachers, he said the government is working to enhance the dignity and incentives of teachers.

The minister said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman believes in action rather than words and implements what he promises. "The distribution of Farmer Cards is another example of that commitment," he added.

He said the introduction of the Farmer Cards marks a "new Halkhata" for farmers, enabling them to easily access incentives, subsidies and necessary support, which would play an important role in boosting agricultural production.

A total of 3,147 farmers in Shibganj upazila of the district received Farmer Cards at the pre-pilot phase during the programme.
