One more dies of measles in 24hrs

DHAKA, April 20, 2026 (BSS) - One person has died of confirmed measles and two more have died of suspected measles in the last 24 hours, according to a press release sent from the control centre of the Directorate General of Health Services here today. 

It said that the number of suspected measles patients in the last 24 hours is 1,170 and the number of suspected measles patients from March 15 to April 20 is 24,776.

The number of confirmed measles cases in the last 24 hours is 174, and the number of confirmed measles cases since March 15 is 3,617. From March 15 to April 20, 16,172 people were admitted to the hospital with suspected measles. 

At the same time, 13,258 people recovered and were discharged from the hospital. 

The release said from March 15 to April 20, 37 people died of confirmed measles. 

In the last 24 hours, two people died of suspected measles. Since March 15, 183 people have died of suspected measles. 

During this time, the highest number of suspected measles cases was reported in Dhaka Division, where 10,915 people were infected. Of these, 2,341 people were confirmed to have measles.
