DHAKA, April 20, 2026 (BSS) - BRAC, a leading Bangladesh-based NGO, has pledged to support the government's ongoing measles vaccination campaign by providing equipment and manpower to help curb the infection.

As the nationwide vaccination drive began today, BRAC has vowed to supply 15 lakh units of syringe and deployed more than 24,000 health workers to assist in the programme.

As part of its support, the organisation has already handed over 648,000 syringes to the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), with the remaining units expected to be delivered by April 30.

Senior Director of BRAC's Health Programme Md Akramul Islam said the organization remains committed to strengthening public health by supporting the vaccination campaign.

To encourage vaccine uptake, awareness campaigns will be conducted at the grassroots level in 280 upazilas across 36 districts with financial support from BRAC. In addition, BRAC health workers will go door-to-door to motivate guardians and children to receive the vaccine until May 12.

More than 3,000 additional BRAC health workers will facilitate vaccination and registration activities during the campaign.
